Local Research Student Scholarships

Semester 1 2010 UNSW Local Research Scholarships - now CLOSED

Successful applicants will be advised from 14 December.

UNSW offers scholarships to local students of exceptional research potential to undertake a higher degree by research at UNSW. Students are being considered for these scholarships to undertake either a PhD or a Masters by Research degree, as appropriate.

1. UNSW Research Excellence Awards $30 - $35,000
 
Newly commencing students who have been awarded a University Medal will be considered for a UNSW Research Excellence scholarship.
 
2. Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA) / University Postgraduate Awards (UPA) plus a Faculty top-up scholarship $25 - $30,000
 
Faculty top-up scholarships are awarded to the top ranked applicants in some faculties.
 
3. Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA) / University Postgraduate Awards (UPA)
 
The scholarship comprises an annual stipend of $22,500. 
 
4. Faculty Postgraduate Awards
 
Recipients of the following awards will be selected from eligible applicants. There is no need to submit a separate application.
  • University College Postgraduate Research Scholarships - approx $23,700* (only available at the UNSW@ADFA campus)
  • Australian School of Business Research Scholarships - $30,000 pa
 
 Applications close 30 October 2009.  Successful candidates will be advised from 14 December 2009.

National Information Communication Technology Association (NICTA)

NICTA offers research scholarships in the School of Computer Science Engineering and School of Electrical Engineering and telecommunications.
