The Endeavour Awards is an internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship program that forms part of the Australian Government's Australian Scholarships initiative. Please visit the Endeavour Awards website to learn what Endeavour Awards you may be eligible to apply for. A brief description of some of the Awards is provided below. Endeavour Postgraduate Awards The Endeavour Postgraduate Awards provide full financial support for international students from participating countries to undertake a postgraduate qualification at a Masters or PhD level either by coursework or research in any field of study in Australia. Up to 80 awards will be offered in 2009 with 40 awards dedicated to Masters degree applicants and 40 awards dedicated to PhD applicants. To be eligible for an Endeavour Postgraduate Award you must have applied for and gained admission to a Masters or PhD course in Australia. If you intend to apply for an Endeavour Postgraduate Award and wish to study at UNSW, please make contact with a prospective supervisor in the school you wish to conduct your program in and then apply for admission to a postgraduate research degree. Award holders must commence their approved programme and award during 2009. Applicants who have commenced or intend to commence their programme at their host institution in 2008 are ineligible for an award. Value and Duration Endeavour Postgraduate Awards provides the following funding for up to 2 years for a Masters and 3 years for a PhD:
** Tuition fees will be paid up to a maximum of $AUD40,000 for Masters degrees and a maximum of $AUD75,000 for PhDs. Please Note: Applications for the Endeavour Postgraduate Awards are made directly to the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, applications are not submitted to UNSW. Endeavour Research Fellowships & Country Specific Postgraduate Awards A number of research fellowships and country specific postgraduate awards are available to provide financial assistance for short term postgraduate research (4 - 6 months) or postgraduate study (up to 1 year). To be eligible, applicants must have a confirmation of acceptance or affiliation from their host institution. If you intend to apply for an Endeavour Research Fellowship or Country Specific Postgraduate Award and wish to study at UNSW, please make contact with a prospective supervisor in the school you wish to conduct your research in. If you wish to enrol in a research program such as a Masters or PhD, you will also be required to apply for admission to a postgraduate research degree.
