Scholarship Databases

In addition to the information provided on the Graduate Research School and UNSW Scholarship websites, there are number of scholarship databases you can use to find scholarships or grants for postgraduate research degrees.

Joint Academic Scholarships On-Line Network (JASON)

JASON is jointly funded by more than 30 Australian universities and provides a single, comprehensive source of scholarship information for both current and prospective postgraduate students. JASON is a searchable online database and is an excellent tool to use to find UNSW scholarship opportunities such as Australian Postgraduate Awards Industry (APAI), research specific scholarships and other scholarships from funding organisations that may be used to support a postgraduate research degree.

http://www.jason.edu.au

When using the search function of the JASON website, to see all of the UNSW specific scholarships, select ‘University of New South Wales’ as the Destination Institution and leave all other fields blank.

To see scholarships are available from other funding organisations use the keyword or research area search and leave the Destination Institution field as ‘Any’.

UNSW Scholarships Website

The UNSW Scholarships website provides a list of scholarships available annually for postgraduate research including Faculty scholarships, general scholarships and equity scholarships.

SPIN (Sponsored Programs Information Network)

SPIN is a computer database with detailed and up-to-date information about thousands of government and private funding opportunities from Australia and Overseas. The SPIN database currently contains details for over 19,500 funding opportunities, covering a broad range of subject areas and award types including some scholarships.

Access to this database is only accessible via an Australian University server/ISP or on UNSW campus.

Funding Organisations

Various funding organisations provide scholarships in specific research areas. It is recommended you visit the websites of funding organisations in your research area of interest to determine what scholarship opportunities might be available.

A short list of funding organisations can be found on the UNSW Research Services website.
