Please note that the fees you pay each year of your study program will be calculated on the basis of that year's current fee as listed above. As a general rule, research fees are charged on a semester basis irrespective of when studies are commenced.

For further information relating to fee payment and policy please refer to the Fees Policy (International) page.

2. Overseas Health Cover

As an International Student, it is a condition of your student visa that you have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the entire duration of your stay in Australia. Students must have OSHC as part of their student visa (Please note: there are exceptions to this rule for example some Norwegian and Swedish students).

The University's preferred provider is Worldcare. You can obtain OSHC with Worldcare or with another provider of OSHC. If you decide to choose another provider of OSHC, you will not be disadvantaged by UNSW. If you decide to obtain OSHC with Worldcare, the University will receive a commission - this is used to improve services to students.

Further information including links to listings of OSHC providers can be found on the relevant of the Future International Students website.

Please Note: If postgraduate research students enrol in any relevant course work as part of their higher research degree at UNSW they will not be charged additional tuition fees.

Fees for Local Postgraduate Research Students

For the duration of the degree, local research students (citizens and permanent residents of Australia and citizens of New Zealand) are required to pay:

1. Tuition Fees

It is expected that all new local postgraduate research students enrolling in a Doctorate or Masters by research at UNSW will be granted a exemption scholarship under the Commonwealth Government's Research Training Scheme.

For further information relating to fee payment and policy please refer to the Fees Policy (Local) page.

Please Note: If postgraduate research students enrol in any relevant coursework as part of their higher research degree at UNSW they will not be charged additional tuition fees.
