Graduation

Congratulations on completing your higher research degree at UNSW!

By now you should be familiar with the document, Thesis Submission and Examination @UNSW and have used it to submit your thesis for examination. The document also contains information on the Graduation process. In a nutshell, there two things that you need to ensure you have done in order to graduate.

  1. Make sure that you have submitted a final bound library copy of your thesis to the Graduate Research School (or to the appropriate student office if you were enrolled at CoFA or UNSW@ADFA), and an electronic version to the Library. (For details on electronic submission of your library copy, see the Digital Thesis Submission page on the Library website.)
  2. Make sure you have thoroughly read the information on the following two web pages. The first page is an overview of the graduation process at UNSW and includes information on gown hire, tickets and a ceremony timetable. The second link contains specific information for postgraduate research students.
There are also a number of forms for graduating students that may be relevant.

If you believe that you have satisfied the requirements of your degree but have not received any information from either the Graduations Office or the Graduate Research School, please contact the appropriate Research Administration Officer for assistance.
